The Welsh Admin Portal (WAP) allows users in the Local Health Board's Medical Records teams to seamlessly interact with the local Patient Administration Service (PAS), resulting in the referral being created in the PAS electronically. In conjunction with the Welsh Clinical Portal (WCP) and Welsh Care Records Service (WCRS), the WAP application generates the necessary information needed for a Consultant to prioritise the referral. WCP provides electronic updates back to WAP and WCCG and stores the updated referrals in WCRS. WAP is used to manage the progression of the referral in PAS through to being ready for booking.
