You’ll be responsible for

  • Owning and delivering the technical SEO strategy across multiple ecommerce websites.
  • Leading large-scale website migrations, ensuring SEO performance is protected and improved.
  • Building strategies around SEO, GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation).
  • Managing and challenging external SEO agencies, with the freedom to choose future agency partners.
  • Working closely with development, product and content teams to ensure SEO best practice is built into every release.
  • Monitoring algorithm updates, competitor activity and emerging search trends.
  • Presenting insights, recommendations and performance updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Helping shape the future of the SEO function, including the opportunity to build an internal team over time.
  • What we’re looking for

We're looking for someone who's passionate about technical SEO and enjoys solving complex challenges.

  • Experience working within a large UK retail or ecommerce brand managing multiple websites.
  • Experience delivering or supporting complex website migrations.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO, GEO and AEO, with a genuine interest in how search is evolving.

Why this role?

  • Complete ownership of the SEO strategy.
  • A genuine blank canvas where your ideas will shape the future direction.
  • Freedom to influence technology, agency partnerships and ways of working.
  • Opportunity to build and grow an internal SEO team.
  • Work across multiple high-profile retail brands with significant investment behind digital growth.
  • A chance to lead the evolution of SEO, GEO and AEO at enterprise scale.
