PLM Development Engineer

Contract: Permanent

WFH: Onsite

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 (DOE)

Location: Burton-Upon-Trent

We\’re looking for a Development Engineer to design, develop, and enhance our client\’s mission-critical engineering applications. In this role, you’ll take ownership of developing and configuring PLM and engineering systems used worldwide. You’ll be responsible for delivering new system functionality, improving workflows, optimising data models, and ensuring the smooth operation of globally deployed engineering platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and configure enhancements to global PLM and engineering applications
• Extend, refine, and improve data models, workflows, and UI components in Teamcenter
• Support the integration of CAD/CAE/Manufacturing systems and business applications
• Investigate technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions
• Deliver application upgrades, new modules, and system improvements aligned with business needs
• Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure Team on server processes, scheduled tasks, and system monitoring

Skills & Experience

• 4+ years’ experience supporting or developing engineering systems
• Hands-on experience with PLM or CAD/CAE applications (Teamcenter, NX, Altair, etc.)
• Knowledge of Java, Perl, or similar scripting/programming languages
• Strong application troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities
• Technical background in application and/or hardware support
• Able to take end-to-end ownership of PLM processes and solution capabilities
• Eligible to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance
