We're working with a customer-facing ecommerce/retail business to find a Frontend Developer to join their growing digital team. This is a great opportunity for someone with 1-2 years' commercial experience who wants to work on high-traffic, customer-facing sites within a fast-paced, agile environment. The role is remote-first, with just one day a month required in Manchester for team collaboration.
What you'll bring:
- 1+ years commercial experience
- Strong experience with HTML5, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript (ES6), React and Next.js, with a focus on responsive, mobile-first development
- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS, build tools (Webpack, Gulp, linters) and Git
- A commitment to clean, maintainable code, including unit testing with frameworks like Jest
- Experience with headless CMS platforms (Contentful, ContentStack) and component libraries/design systems
- Comfort working within Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Awareness of secure development practices
- Bonus: experience with multi-site builds and exposure to the full SDLC
What you'll be doing:
- Writing high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code
- Contributing to software design β including application architecture, data flows and technical design
- Producing clear functional and technical documentation
- Helping define project scope and estimate timescales
- Identifying risks, issues and dependencies around testing
- Working within an agile delivery framework (Scrum, Kanban, XP)
