I’m working with a high-performing independent digital agency to hire a Key Account Director to lead one of their most strategically important retail client relationships.
About the role:
- Lead a flagship client account as the senior day-to-day contact, owning the relationship and overall client experience.
- Act as the central point of coordination between the client and internal strategy, delivery and specialist teams, ensuring a joined-up, outcomes-focused approach.
- Translate client business objectives into clear priorities and briefs for internal teams, maintaining momentum across all workstreams.
- Oversee account health: ensuring work is delivered on time, to a high standard, within agreed scope and commercial parameters.
- Lead and facilitate client meetings, planning sessions and performance reviews, keeping conversations purposeful and data-led.
- Manage budgets, scope and forecasting at account level, identifying opportunities to add value and grow the relationship where it genuinely supports client goals.
About you:
- Experienced in a senior client management role within a digital agency or marketing services environment.
- Proven track record of owning and developing key client relationships as the primary point of contact.
- Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on oversight of day-to-day delivery and issue resolution.
- Commercially aware with experience managing budgets, scope, forecasting and making sound commercial decisions at account level.
- Confident communicator who can build trust with senior stakeholders and handle challenging conversations constructively.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing services and how integrated, multi-channel delivery drives results.
- Organised, proactive and accountable, with a genuine sense of ownership for client outcomes and long-term account health.
