Our client is a fast-growing retail business with a strong nationwide presence. As part of its continued expansion and investment in digital capability, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Digital Analyst to join its Group Digital team. This is a hands-on role for a data-driven analyst with strong expertise in digital analytics, ecommerce measurement, reporting, and data visualisation. Reporting to the Group Digital Analytics Manager, you will transform digital, ecommerce, and customer data into meaningful insights that support commercial performance and business decision-making.
You will work closely with Ecommerce, Marketing, Product, Technology, and external agency partners to improve digital tracking, reporting, and analytics capabilities. The role will also support the development and application of AI within analytics.
The role:
- Act as the subject matter expert for Google Analytics 4 across the business.
- Own and enhance digital measurement, reporting, and ecommerce tracking across multiple websites.
- Analyse customer behaviour, conversion funnels, website performance, and ecommerce journeys to identify opportunities for growth.
- Manage and support tagging, event tracking, and measurement through Google Tag Manager.
- Define data and measurement requirements for website enhancements, campaigns, and digital projects.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for key stakeholders.
- Use BigQuery, SQL, and integrated data sources to conduct detailed customer and commercial analysis.
- Monitor data quality, investigate anomalies, and resolve tracking or reporting issues.
- Support conversion rate optimisation, experimentation, and performance analysis.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and agency partners to improve analytics capability and business performance.
- Explore and implement AI-driven tools and approaches to enhance reporting, analysis, and insight generation.
- Support the continuous improvement of analytics processes, governance, and data literacy across the business.
About you:
Essential experience:
- Significant hands-on experience using Google Analytics 4, including ecommerce reporting and measurement.
- Strong experience with Google Tag Manager and digital tracking implementation.
- Advanced knowledge of Google BigQuery and SQL for analysing large datasets.
- Advanced Power BI skills, including dashboard development, data modelling, and stakeholder reporting.
- Experience working within an ecommerce, retail, or wider digital environment.
- Strong understanding of customer journeys, digital performance metrics, and commercial KPIs.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Ability to translate complex technical and analytical information into clear, actionable business recommendations.
- A commercially minded approach, with a focus on delivering insight that supports business performance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with colleagues at all levels.

- Experience working with APIs, automated data pipelines, or cloud-based data environments.
- Practical experience using AI tools within an analytics environment, including automated analysis and insight generation.
- Experience supporting ecommerce replatforming projects or wider digital transformation programmes.
- Previous experience working with digital analytics agencies or external specialist partners.
