Digital Extremes is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Network and Security Engineer (Live Ops) to join our Live Ops IT team. This role is crucial to ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our global infrastructure that supports both our acclaimed games and our web presence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of networking expertise, a deep commitment to security best practices, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced live service environment. Location: On‑site at our London, Ontario studio.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, maintain, and optimize application‑layer firewalls and willingness to learn the Akamai DDoS/CDN platform.
  • Plan and implement wide‑area network (WAN) solutions between multiple sites and platforms.
  • Serve as the primary or secondary owner for a variety of platforms: patching, AV, 2FA, monitoring, etc.
  • Provide critical outside‑hours support when services are down or degraded.
  • Plan and implement multi‑site network infrastructure deployments.
  • Lead ongoing monitoring of IT infrastructure to identify and mitigate external threats.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of professional experience managing enterprise switches (e.g., Aruba, Cisco, Juniper) and application‑layer firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point).
  • Deep technical knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP), and quality of service (QoS).
  • Proven experience with modern security platforms, including EDR, vulnerability scanners, and centralized logging/SIEM tools.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to information security best practices and handling sensitive data with integrity.

Salary Range: $120,000–$135,000 CAD
