Digital Extremes is seeking an intermediate Digital Artist to capture high-quality in-game screenshots and promotional art for Warframe and Soulframe. This role is tailor‑made for a visual storyteller who bridges the gap between virtual photography and high‑end post‑production. The ideal candidate has a proven eye for capturing marketing‑ready screenshots that effectively showcase key update features, upcoming gameplay mechanics, and new in‑game items. Deep familiarity with Warframe's Captura photomode is a significant advantage, though equivalent experience with modern in‑game photomodes is highly valued. By combining digital painting, graphic design, and expert Photoshop compositing, you will transform raw assets into polished promotional pieces that resonate with our global community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- In‑Game Screenshot Capture: Frame, light, and capture high‑resolution marketing screenshots using Captura photomode and internal engine tools.
- Photoshop Compositing & Paint‑overs: Utilize Adobe Photoshop to photo‑bash, paint over, retouch, color grade, and add intensive post‑effects to elevate raw captures into cinematic art.
- Graphic Design & Assets: Integrate marketing art with strong design elements to create promotional banners, print designs, and social media assets with a keen focus on composition, typography, and brand identity.
- Pipeline Growth: Stay adaptable. Evolve alongside our pipeline needs, which includes the gradual adoption of Maya over time for advanced 3D asset manipulation and scene posing.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: 3+ years of experience producing digital art, marketing screenshots, or promotional assets within the gaming industry.
- Captura & Virtual Photography: Demonstrated ability to capture high‑end promotional screenshots. Specific expertise in Captura photomode is highly beneficial.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for digital compositing, photo‑bashing, and matte painting.
- Artistic Fundamentals: Strong command of graphic design principles, composition, camera angles, and cinematic lighting.
- Execution: A proven track record of meeting tight production deadlines while delivering polished, digital‑ and print‑ready assets.
- Portfolio: Required. Must demonstrate a clear narrative focus through high‑quality virtual photography and final, composited marketing art.
PREFERRED EXTRAS
- Active familiarity with the Warframe and Soulframe universes and their unique aesthetics.
- Basic familiarity with Maya or similar 3D software packages (or a strong eagerness to learn).
- Experience organizing highly layered, complex source files (PSDs) for easy asset splitting and repurposing across various digital platforms.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application.
