Digital Catapult is seeking a confident Events Manager to join its Marcomms (Marketing, Communications, and Events) Team on an 8-month Fixed Term Contract working on our Bridge/ Frontier Programme. Reporting to the Head of Events, you’ll plan and deliver a range of internal and external events, physical, virtual, and hybrid, aligned with the Bridge/Frontier programme. These activities have been outlined in the programme commitments and are crucial to the success of this phase of the programme.

The role is required to design event activity that will showcase our work on the Bridge/Frontier programme and coordinate logistics, shape content, and ensure an exceptional guest experience while working closely with internal teams and external partners. The Events Manager will be expected to be on site at a Digital Catapult location at least three days per week.

WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties)

  • Work collaboratively with the Bridge/Frontier programme team to define, create and produce a portfolio of events to meet our strategic objectives and come up with suggestions to enhance events success.
  • Manage events execution for Bridge/Frontier, ensuring that event content and agenda meet the objectives and logistics run seamlessly and resolve any issues arising to ensure high customer satisfaction and/or escalate in a timely manner to the Head of Events (if needed).
  • Coordinate the day-to-day running of events across the programme, including but not limited to room setup, managing delegate registrations, speakers’ management, catering, overlooking audio-visual delivery, event visuals and materials, client relations, delegates’ engagement and feedback and impact capture and measurement.
  • Ensure that hosted or co-hosted events are relevant to the Bridge/Frontier programme at Digital Catapult, making sure they meet the requirements, target audience, objectives and add value.
  • Handle catering orders and budget, additional staffing rotas, roles and responsibilities on the day of the managed event and coordinate work of various event suppliers (if required).

Requirements

  • Experience in and passion for operational delivery in both physical and virtual event settings.
  • High expectations of quality and seamless service delivery with a strategic thinking approach, an agile mind-set and hands-on skills.
  • Understanding of the importance of event content and a holistic approach to event design and execution.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, and outside of normal office hours, as part of a team, often working on early morning or late evening events.
  • Strong stakeholder management, organisation and communication skills.
  • You’ll have project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, requiring strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills along with strong attention to detail.
  • Ideally educated to degree level in events management or qualified by experience, as well as knowledge of DDA compliance and event health and safety, would also be advantageous.

Salary: c.42K-52K subject to experience
