The Role

As HR Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the business through the full spectrum of human resources activity—from employee relations and recruitment through to policy development and people strategy. Key Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of the day-to-day HR function across the group, providing expert advice and guidance to managers and employees at all levels.
  • Managing employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance management.
  • Leading on recruitment and onboarding activity, ensuring the business attracts and retains the best talent.
  • Developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures in line with current employment legislation.
  • Supporting managers with workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
  • Overseeing and managing the HR team, providing leadership, support, and direction.
  • Driving employee engagement initiatives and supporting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Producing HR reports and providing data-driven insight to senior leadership to support business decision-making.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in employment law and ensuring the business remains fully compliant at all times.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in an HR Manager or senior HR role, with the ability to operate both strategically and operationally.
  • Experience within the hospitality sector—restaurants, leisure, hotels or similar—is highly desirable.
  • CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels.
  • A confident, proactive, and solutions-focused approach with the ability to manage a varied and demanding workload.
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Based within commuting distance of Chester.
