Overview

Digital 51 is exclusively partnered with an established independent creative performance agency to appoint a

Performance Marketing Account Manager . This is advertised as

Social Media Manager for Linked In due to Linked In naming conventions.

The agency works across hospitality, leisure, lifestyle, e Commerce and the wider consumer economy, combining performance marketing, creative thinking, audience understanding and digital experience to help ambitious brands connect with customers and deliver measurable commercial results.

The business has built an impressive portfolio of recognised brands, with many client relationships developing through recommendation, repeat business and long-term retained partnerships.

This hire forms part of the agency’s next stage of development.

The successful person will take day-to-day ownership of approximately four to six retained clients, working closely with specialists across paid media, creative and strategy.

This is not a traditional Account Manager role focused only on timelines, status updates and passing technical questions to delivery teams.

Equally, it is not a hands-on platform role where you will be expected to spend every day building and managing campaigns.

The opportunity sits between the two.

You will need genuine performance marketing understanding, particularly across Paid Social, and the confidence to turn campaign performance into clear insight, recommendations and commercially useful client conversations.

The Role

As Performance Marketing Account Manager, you will become a trusted day-to-day partner to your clients.

You will understand their objectives, audiences and wider commercial priorities, helping connect those needs with the expertise across the agency.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Building strong and trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders
  • Leading regular client meetings, reporting sessions and planning conversations
  • Understanding campaign performance and identifying the insights that matter
  • Turning data into clear recommendations and practical next steps
  • Working closely with paid media, creative and strategy specialists
  • Coordinating activity, deliverables, timelines and client communication to keep internal teams aligned around client priorities and objectives
  • Identifying potential delivery, scope or account risks and raising them early
  • Recognising opportunities to broaden client relationships where additional services can create genuine value
  • Supporting long-term account retention and development

Performance Marketing Knowledge you will have and demonstrate

  • Strong Paid Social understanding is central to this role. You should be comfortable discussing activity across platforms including:
  • Meta
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Tik Tok

You will understand how paid campaigns are planned, measured, tested and optimised, including the relationship between audience, creative, media and performance.

You will not be expected to build every campaign yourself, but you should have enough technical depth to:

  • Discuss performance confidently
  • Ask informed questions
  • Interrogate results
  • Challenge assumptions where appropriate
  • Understand testing and optimisation decisions
  • Translate technical information into clear client recommendations

Is this for you?

You may already be working as an Account Manager within a performance marketing, paid media or integrated digital agency.

You may be a Senior Account Executive ready to take greater ownership of client relationships.

Alternatively, you may have developed within a wider Digital Marketing, Paid Social or Paid Media role and now want to move closer to clients, strategy and wider commercial decision-making.

You are likely to bring

  • Strong Paid Social and performance marketing knowledge
  • Experience working directly with clients
  • Confidence presenting campaign performance and recommendations
  • The ability to interpret data and develop a clear point of view
  • Strong relationship-management and communication skills
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and client requirements
  • The confidence to challenge constructively
  • A proactive and accountable approach
  • The ability to collaborate across different agency disciplines

This is an opportunity to join an agency with established work, recognised clients and a clear reason for making this hire.

You will benefit from

  • Ownership of a portfolio of retained client relationships
  • Exposure to recognised hospitality, leisure, lifestyle, e Commerce and consumer brands
  • Work spanning performance marketing, creative and strategy
  • Direct access to experienced agency leaders
  • Support from an Account Director with a strong performance marketing background
  • The opportunity to contribute ideas and influence how accounts develop
  • Visible responsibility within a smaller, entrepreneurial agency
  • A credible route towards Senior Account Manager and Account Director as the business grows
  • Industry training and ongoing development
  • 25 days’ annual leave
  • Subsidised gym membership
  • A Shoreditch office close to Liverpool Street: Role is 3/4 days office-based.
  • If you can demonstrate the above skills and would like to hear more about this fantastic opportunity and truly unique agency, then please apply today.
