Network Engineer

We are recruiting a freelance Network Engineer for a major project at an IT Client based in Sheffield, UK: Duration: 6-12 months + extensions Location: Sheffield Onsite Pay Rate: Negotiable Inside IR35 Your responsibilities will include: Strong experience with IP routing including TCP/IP and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). Experience in Virtual network environments like Cisco ACI and NSX. Experience in network security firewalling, with a focus on design and implementation. Experience in network management and network monitoring tools. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure. Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues. Collaboration: Work closely with network architects, software developers, and operations teams to align objectives with business goals. Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve hardware or software issues. Excellent communication and technical documentation skills. Develop and test network automation scripts using Ansible, Python, and REST APIs. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience considered. 5+ years of experience in network engineering. Experience with containerized environments and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
