Role:
We are seeking experienced Clinical Safety Officers (CSOs) to support a growing portfolio of digital health and care projects. This contract role is primarily remote, with potential opportunities for hybrid working depending on client and project needs. The CSO will play a key role in implementing, overseeing, and assuring clinical safety across digital health solutions. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure clinical risk is appropriately identified, managed, and controlled throughout the lifecycle of digital systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the implementation of clinical safety management systems in line with DCB0129 and DCB0160
- Act as Clinical Safety Officer for digital health and care systems/products/services
- Conduct and oversee clinical risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation planning
- Develop, review, and maintain clinical safety documentation (including safety cases and hazard logs)
- Provide expert clinical safety advice to project teams, suppliers, and clients
- Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis
- Deliver or support clinical safety training and awareness sessions
- Contribute to governance, assurance, and compliance activities across projects
- Promote best practice in clinical safety, patient safety, and digital assurance
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while managing responsibilities independently
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered clinician or Healthcare Professional (HCP)
- Strong working knowledge of DCB0129 and DCB0160
- Demonstrated experience in clinical risk management and safety assurance
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with others
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working within digital health, health IT, or care systems
- Familiarity with DTAC and other digital health compliance standards
- Experience supporting AI-enabled or data-driven health technologies
- Previous consultancy or multi-client experience
