Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team on a full time, on site basis in Manchester. This role is suited to an experienced accountant who is either part qualified or fully qualified ACCA or ACA, with at least five years of practice experience.
This is more than a technical role. You will lead your own client pod, taking ownership of a portfolio and acting as the main point of contact for clients. You will oversee the delivery of accounts, tax, and advisory work while supporting and developing junior team members. This position offers a clear and fast progression path into a Client Manager role, making it an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step up and take on more responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients and act as their primary point of contact
- Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, and all types of tax filings (VAT, Corp Tax, Personal Tax, CIS, etc)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Lead and support junior team members within your pod
- Provide insights and support to clients to aid decision making
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and client service
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of five years experience within an accountancy practice
- ACCA or ACA part qualified or fully qualified
- Strong technical accounting knowledge including financial reporting and compliance
- Experience using Xero, Dext, and similar accounting software
- Confident in managing client relationships and delivering high quality service
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem solving skills
- Ability to take ownership and lead a small team
Salary
Up to £40,000 depending on experience
