I’m working with a high-performing organisation that is growing its in‑house technology team and looking for a GCP Platform & Security Engineer to help support, secure and optimise its cloud environment. This is a hands‑on role across Google Cloud Platform, cloud security and DevOps. You’ll work alongside wider technical teams, helping make sure applications and services are secure, reliable and running efficiently.
Tech environment: GCP, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Docker, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Git, Python, Node.js/TypeScript, IAM, VPC, Zero Trust and FinOps.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting and maintaining a growing GCP environment
- Managing cloud security controls, including IAM, VPC and access management
- Supporting serverless/containerised services such as Cloud Run and Cloud Functions
- Helping ensure applications are well‑architected, reliable and secure
- Monitoring and optimising cloud spend
- Working across GCP, some on‑premise systems and wider security tooling
- Supporting good DevOps and security practices across the technical team

- Good knowledge of GCP services
- Understanding of cloud security principles, including IAM, VPC and secure access
- Understanding of HTTP, DNS and APIs
