We’re a profitable video games start-up with 4 million monthly players and we’re hiring team members to join our founding team in London, Kings Cross.
About us
Creating games with editable worlds takes 20k+ lines of well-optimised code and years of development. Bloxd gives you editable worlds in 5 lines of code, within 5 minutes.
About you
You’re passionate about gaming and excited to build great games. You’re excited about the prospect of building games that bring millions of people together and you’re happy to wear many hats (product/UI, design, community management) whilst you iterate on a live product.
Things you could work on in your first 2 months:
- Create and own your own game
- Develop new gameplay systems inside existing games
- Profile and optimise performance
- Drive implementation of a monetisation system (subscriptions/IAP)
- Onboard and create APIs for new game developers
- Develop an in-game item marketplace
Our tech
We have a TypeScript-first code base and make use of React and Node to build our engine for web-based distribution so you’ll need to be happy to pick these tools up if you’re not already familiar.
Essential traits
- 2 to 40+ years of professional experience in software engineering or game development. Yes – we’re looking for a wide range of experience levels.
- Experience developing games or game engines either professionally or as side projects.
Bonus traits
- Experience shipping successful live service games.
- Experience with web technologies such as TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
