About the Opportunity

We are supporting a leading international satellite communications, systems integration and IT engineering organisation in the search for a Stores & Workshop Apprentice to join their operations team in Redhill, Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within engineering, satellite communications, logistics, workshop operations or technical assembly. You will gain hands‑on exposure across workshop activities, store operations, equipment preparation and engineering support within a highly technical environment supporting government, maritime and enterprise communications projects globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workshop & Engineering Support
    • Assist with functional testing of equipment within the workshop
    • Support the mechanical assembly and mounting of hardware
    • Use hand tools for mechanical and electrical tasks
    • Assist with drilling, tapping and cutting activities
    • Prepare cables and connectors for termination
    • Support assembly and wiring of 19” panel systems
    • Maintain accurate workshop records and documentation
    • Ensure workshop areas remain safe, clean and compliant with QHS&E procedures
  • Stores & Logistics Support
    • Support Goods Inwards and Goods Outwards processes
    • Assist with picking, checking and packing of equipment
    • Help maintain accurate stock records and serial number tracking
    • Support stocktakes and cycle counting activities
    • Update warranty and inventory databases
    • Assist with the safe handling and movement of materials and equipment
    • Support general facilities and housekeeping activities across the site
    • Maintain awareness of hazardous goods handling procedures and compliance requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong interest in engineering, workshop operations or technical environments
  • Good secondary education with strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new systems quickly
  • Good attention to detail, particularly around serial numbers and stock accuracy
  • Physically capable of handling and moving equipment safely
  • Reliable, flexible and trustworthy
  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn and develop
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team
