Overview Position: Principal Designer (CMAPs)Reporting Line: Associate Director – Head of Safety and RiskResponsibilities Manage projects as instructed by your line managerDeveloped project documentation, including Pre-Construction Information, Design Risk Registers, Construction Phase Plans and Health and Safety FilesReview project documentation, including Pre-Construction Information, Design Risk Registers, Construction Phase Plans and Health and Safety FilesChair Design Team Meetings (DTM) at a senior project level, ensuring that project design risks are capturedReview of project RAMSDevelop Risk Assessments for clientsAttend site meetingsPerform Site Safety Visits and develop reports based on findings, including the development of Corrective Action TrackersWrite project reports for clients, based on the scope of servicesA willingness to develop new consulting skills in support of clientsIn addition to your normal duties, you may occasionally be required to undertake additional work necessary to meet the needs of the business, without additional remuneration.Proven people management skillsExcellent project management skillsDemonstrable experience in developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutionsExcellent listening, negotiation and presentation skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including correct use of industry language and reference to UK health and safety legislationFull UK driving licencePersonal Qualities Ability to work on their own and be self-motivated, whereby time is managed effectively, establish key priorities and maintain focus to meet deadlines.Manage workload as the project, line manager and client requires.Flexibility to adjust to different team dynamics, whereby one may be working alone or as part of a team.Ability to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities for the given workload.Engage in self-reflection of work quality and accuracy when working on independent tasks and projects.Qualifications/Experience In-depth knowledge and understanding of the CDM RegulationsSenior-level experience acting as Principal DesignerSenior-level experience acting as CDM AdvisorSenior-level experience in developing CDM documentationSenior-level experience in reviewing CDM documentation to determine if it is suitably developedSenior-level experience in reviewing project RAMS, with a focus on high-risk work activities on-siteExcellent project management skills, with particular emphasis on effectively identifying client needs and articulating them successfully within project plansExperience of working within a multi-stakeholder environment where competing needs must be managed effectively in order to deliver resultsExperience of working in an environment where commercial performance targets are part of the workloadAbility to effectively and concisely communicate regulatory and best practice requirements to personnel at all levels within client companiesAbility to communicate through reports and project documentation using correct language, grammar and syntaxCMaPS or working towards this professional qualification, ideally having membership of APSPossible membership of IOSHApplication Process Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your experience and qualifications.Equal Opportunity Employer We are committed to creating a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
