As a Civils Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations and ensuring that all works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required standards. You will work closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery teams to coordinate labour, plant, and materials while maintaining full visibility of project progress. The role requires a balance of site presence and administrative oversight, ensuring that records, reporting, and compliance requirements are consistently maintained.
You will act as a key representative of GCU on site, liaising with subcontractors, local authorities, and clients, and ensuring that all activities are carried out in line with relevant legislation and company procedures. A strong focus on health and safety will be essential, alongside maintaining quality control and ensuring adherence to programme timelines.
What We ExpectWe expect you to demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment at all times, ensuring that both your team and subcontractors follow correct procedures and industry standards. You should take pride in leading from the front, setting clear expectations, and maintaining high standards of workmanship and professionalism across all projects.
You will be proactive in identifying and resolving issues on site, managing changing priorities effectively, and keeping stakeholders informed through clear and accurate communication. A high level of organisation will be essential, as you will be responsible for maintaining records, reporting on progress, and ensuring that all project documentation is accurate and up to date. Flexibility is important, as the role will involve working across multiple sites and adapting to the needs of the project.
What You Will BringYou will bring proven experience in a civils or utilities supervisory role, with a strong understanding of construction processes, particularly within fibre or telecoms infrastructure works. You will have the confidence and capability to lead teams on site, manage subcontractors effectively, and ensure that work is delivered in line with programme and quality expectations.
You will hold relevant industry accreditations, including SSSTS and a valid CSCS card, along with a Supervisor Street Works qualification.
