Words First is offering a Speech and Language Therapist Degree Apprenticeship for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people in education. This role combines paid employment with university study, giving you the opportunity to train as a Speech and Language Therapist while gaining hands-on experience in schools. You will work alongside experienced clinicians and be supported as you develop the knowledge and skills needed to build a career in the profession.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support Speech and Language Therapists delivering interventions in schools
- Assist with therapy activities and preparation of resources
- Work with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals
- Participate in supervision, training and team meetings
You will be supported by a Team Leader, Clinical Supervisor, Workplace Mentor and our wider multidisciplinary team throughout the apprenticeship.
Who We’re Looking For
This opportunity is ideal for people who already work with children and want to progress into Speech and Language Therapy. Applicants should demonstrate:
- A clear interest in speech and language therapy
- Experience working with children in education or support roles (for example Teaching Assistant or similar)
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
