Location: Bromley Park Care Home in Beckenham, South East London BR3 5PA

Contracted hours: 40 hours (including some weekend work when needed)

Hourly rate: from £13.50 - to be discussed depending on experience and qualifications

Must have experience in painting and decorating.

As a Maintenance/Handyperson, you will be part of a supportive team providing maintenance support under the direction of the Home Manager and Head of Maintenance. Your role will involve carrying out routine repairs and monitoring on all systems and systematically solving day‑to‑day problems to ensure our residents at Bromley Park Care Home are in the best possible environment.

With experience of maintenance, you will work independently and as part of the wider maintenance team, acting on both planned and reactive maintenance issues and prioritising tasks in terms of urgency to keep all areas free from hazards and all equipment and systems fully operational.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the effectiveness of maintenance implementation and delivery.
  • Carry out routine repairs and monitoring on all systems and grounds.
  • Systematically solve day‑to‑day problematic issues that arise.
  • Ensure the residents’ rights are protected and their privacy and dignity are maintained when working nearby.
  • Check and tag safe all electrical appliances brought into the Home by residents, relatives and others, in line with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of the maintenance team.
