This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on our fabrication work, part of a project of national significance, while working with a team of experts. We’re looking for someone to cover this role while one of the team is out of the business for a month or so. It's a critical role as part of our wider team managing this heavily labour-intensive project where on-time delivery is critical.
Who are A&P Tyne? With the largest fabrication facilities on the East coast of England, we built units for vessels within our 24,000 square metre Fabrication Hall, where you will be based. Using in-house capabilities to maintain tight project control we work closely with our customers to deliver what they need, as they need it, when they need it.
So what will you do?
- You’ll supervise and manage either the day or the nightshift operation with a focus on project delivery and resources working with your Team Leaders, Project Manager, Project Engineers and other project team members.
- Working within project requirements you’ll also be ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards and legislation and will control stop/start operations.
- Working within budgetary and financial constraints you’ll ensure project delivery against plans advising on the efficiency and productivity of planned vs actual hours with the Production Manager and Project Team.
And what are we looking for?
- Supervisory experience of projects and teams.
- Understanding of Plating in heavy fabrication.
- Competence in using Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel.
- Trade trained ideally as a Plater/Fabricator or Welder.
