Become the Engine Behind Manchester's New Industrial Powerhouse. IDRA isn’t a venue, it’s a machine. A living, thundering remnant of Manchester's industrial backbone, reborn as a factory of sound, culture, and pure kinetic energy.

About IDRA: IDRA is where Manchester's industrial past roars back to life. Born from the colossal machinery that once powered one of the UK’s largest machine works, IDRA transforms that legacy into a living, breathing cultural engine. Vast steel beams, towering relics, exposed brick, and cathedral‑scale ceilings shape an atmosphere that is raw and unapologetically mechanical. This is a venue built on the bones of industry. It’s character forged in concrete, metal, and the echo of heavy engineering, reborn now as a factory dancefloor.

Across multiple spaces: from the cavernous Foundry to the underground concrete Bunker and the towering Machine 32. IDRA is engineered for sound, spectacle, and large‑scale cultural energy. It’s a multi‑level playground for live shows, rave culture, visual storytelling, and immersive events, designed to scale for all events. With adaptable formats, high‑impact aesthetics, and the heartbeat of Manchester's creative scene running through it, IDRA isn’t just a venue; it’s an industrial‑grade environment built to elevate the DNA of every event it touches.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the Frontline Force: Stand at the heart of the machine. Visible, steady, full of intent and energy. You will guide the team through each event with clarity and confidence, setting the tone in every room, from the echoing Foundry to the concrete Bunker and towering Machine 32.
  • Forge a High‑Performance Culture: Build an environment where people feel proud to plug in and power up. Inclusive, driven, supportive, your team will feel valued, motivated, and ready to deliver their best every single day.
  • Engineer Exceptional Experiences: Every guest. Every event. Every moment. You’ll oversee enquiries, solve problems in real time, take feedback seriously, and ensure every night runs with industrial‑grade precision.
  • Keep the System Running Smoothly: From event flow to daily service, from bookings to live operations, you’ll keep IDRA firing on all cylinders. Policies, procedures, compliance, safety, these are the foundations you’ll own and continuously elevate.
  • Lead, Develop, and Ignite Talent: Recruit, train, inspire, and grow a high‑calibre team. You’ll collaborate closely with the wider DIECAST venue management team, nurturing people who thrive in fast‑moving, high‑impact environments.
  • Drive the Business Forward: You’ll take charge of the numbers, budgets, forecasting, cost control, stock, rotas. Your work keeps the engine efficient, profitable, and primed for long‑term momentum.
  • Grow the Membership & Community Network: Champion IDRA’s offering, help shape marketing and event strategies, and cultivate relationships with members, partners, and the local community. You become the link between IDRA and the city that built it.
  • Own the Space: IDRA is vast, industrial, and alive. You’ll ensure it stays clean, safe, and mechanically sound. From supplier relationships to equipment servicing, you’ll keep the venue operational, polished, and ready for impact.

What We’re Looking For

  • You have a proven track record of leading large teams successfully. Preferably in high‑volume venues that host high-volume events, nightlife, hospitality, or late‑night environments.
  • You’re obsessed with delivering standout moments and making people feel seen and valued.
  • You communicate with clarity, positivity, and calm, even when the pressure spikes.
  • You’re confident with financials: budgets, cost control, stock, and operational metrics.
  • You understand health, safety, and compliance in large‑scale or late‑night settings.
  • You are organised to the millimetre, obsessed with high standards, and proud to maintain them.
  • You’re hands‑on, adaptable, and quick to shift gears when the night demands it.
  • You’re ambitious, for yourself, for your team, and for the experiences you help create.

THE SETUP

This is an on‑site, 45‑hours‑per‑week role, with the need for flexibility across evenings and weekends. Your schedule follows the pulse of the events programme and the demands of a constantly evolving space.
