We are a small family business consisting of 2 hotels in Didsbury, Manchester and we now seek to employ a part-time accountant owing to the impending retirement of the present accountant. The position involves the following duties:
- Ability to perform all accounting and bookkeeping tasks required
- Ability to produce monthly management accounts from a trial balance
- Provision of year-end accounting information to the external accountants
- Maintaining and improving financial controls
- Supervision of a bookkeeping assistant
- Negotiating and arranging contracts for utilities
- Reporting to the General Manager and Company Director
Sage is the current accounting software so experience with this product would be preferable. The hours of work can be flexible but are estimated to be 14 hours per week. The successful candidate needs to be experienced, commercially minded and discreet with good attention to detail. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an accountant seeking a varied and responsible position within a respected and long-standing hospitality business.
