Didcot Glass & Glazing Ltd are a family run firm located in Wallingford, Oxfordshire who are looking to add a new member to the team due to a large increase in work. We require a self-motivated experienced window and door fitter with excellent communication skills, and a clean driving license as you will be given a company fleet vehicle.
SCOPE
The Experienced Window Fitter reports to the Managing Director and will work to install, repair and maintain glazing / door systems and fixtures in residential and commercial settings. The successful candidate will join our existing team and will have no less than 5+ years' experience in the relevant trade. In this role you will be required to:
- Install windows and doors in aluminium, UPVC and timber.
- Install composite doors and aluminium bifolds.
- Install lintels to support brickwork.
- Install conservatories in Aluminium and UPVC.
- Remove any existing windows and doors prior to installing new.
- Replace glazing in windows, doors and shopfront glazing.
- Undertake window and door repairs/maintenance and replace locks, hinges and handles.
- Patch in plaster after installations.
- Patch in render after installations.
- Complete site surveys and take measurements.
The above list is not exhaustive. You must be capable of working alone and as part of a team with good timekeeping & communication skills. A good level of customer service is essential. You will be required to pass a DBS check that we will pay for. Residing close to our main offices would be an advantage in this position.
The Experienced Window Fitter will work in cooperation with management, colleagues & other trades and labourers to ensure that all specifications, legislation and policies are met, and to ensure efficient completion of any project. Providing adequate services will ensure that all standards of building codes and health and safety are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Experienced Window Fitter, you will be expected to take the lead on installations and in all aspects of glazing in all types of properties from commercial premises to private households. You will work with Timber, Aluminium and UPVC products.
