Duration – 3 months initially. Start Date – Beginning of October. Our agency is supporting an organisation that is preparing to undertake a collective redundancy programme and is looking to bring in an experienced interim HR professional to provide additional capacity and hands-on support throughout the process. This is an exclusive role with our agency.

The successful individual will work closely with the existing HR team and senior management to help plan, manage and deliver the redundancy programme, ensuring the process is well structured, properly documented and handled professionally from start to finish. A key element of the assignment will be employee relations and collective consultation. Previous experience of working in a unionised environment and managing consultation with recognised trade unions would therefore be highly advantageous.

The role is likely to include:

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of a collective redundancy programme
  • Providing additional hands-on HR capacity to the existing team
  • Supporting consultation with recognised trade union representatives
  • Preparing consultation documentation, timelines and communications
  • Supporting managers throughout the process
  • Advising on selection pools, consultation processes and associated HR issues
  • Managing and coordinating individual consultation activity
  • Ensuring the process is fair, consistent and appropriately documented
  • Working alongside senior management and internal HR colleagues to deliver the programme
  • Helping to keep the process moving and providing practical, confident HR support

We are particularly interested in individuals who have hands-on experience of collective redundancies, restructuring and recognised trade union environments. This is a delivery-focused assignment, so the ability to come in quickly, build credibility and take ownership will be important.
