Dickson O’Brien Associates are supporting a well-established organisation in Merseyside with the appointment of a Finance Trustee to join its Board. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who would like to use their commercial and financial expertise to make a meaningful contribution at Board level.

THE ROLE

  • Working alongside the Chair, fellow Trustees and senior management, you will provide financial oversight, guidance and constructive challenge to the organisation.
  • Providing financial oversight and governance at Board level.
  • Reviewing management accounts, budgets and financial reports.
  • Supporting the Board in understanding financial performance and risk.
  • Providing advice on financial strategy and planning.
  • Challenging and supporting senior management where appropriate.
  • Helping ensure strong financial controls and good governance.
  • Contributing to wider Board discussions and strategic decisions.

ABOUT YOU

  • We are looking for an experienced finance professional with a strong understanding of financial management and governance.
  • You could be: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • An experienced Finance Director, CFO, Financial Controller, Finance Manager or senior accountant.
  • Experienced in financial reporting, budgeting and financial controls.
  • Comfortable reviewing financial information and providing constructive challenge.
  • Able to communicate financial matters clearly to non-finance Board members.
  • Interested in contributing your expertise within a Trustee/Board environment.

Previous Trustee or NED experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

COMMITMENT

Approximately 1 day per month, including Board meetings and preparation. This is a voluntary Trustee position, with reasonable expenses covered where applicable.
