The predicted salary is between 49500 - 60500 Β£ per year.
The primary focus of the role will be both acting as principal contact for your own portfolio of clients and also supporting our team in a variety of areas, for example by tackling the more complex accounts work and assisting the partners with various client-related tasks and special ad hoc assignments.
Your typical daily duties will include:
- Preparation and completion of Limited company accounts and tax computations
- Using Xero and other accountancy software to complete key tasks
- Supporting junior colleagues with queries, setting assignments and reviewing their work
- Preparation of management accounts
- Reviewing VAT returns prepared by junior colleagues
- Dealing with ad hoc queries raised by clients
- Being the point of contact for your portfolio of clients whilst working on their accounts
- Keeping the senior management team informed of any issues that arise with the client
- Raising any potential time overruns as they are identified, with suggestions to mitigate the issues
- Responsibility for clearing review points and addressing any follow-up queries until the date the accounts are signed
- Maintain and develop technical ability by attending webinars and keeping abreast of technical development
- Assisting the partners on special project work such as business acquisitions and disposals
Person specifications:
- All applicants must have substantial accounting experience in practice, ideally gained in a UK professional firm, to include preparation of statutory and management accounts, VAT and bookkeeping (using Xero and Sage)
- A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA / ACCA)
- A strong team player who has the ability to work under minimal supervision, and work closely with the management team to drive projects forward
- Be approachable to members of the accounts team
- Clearly explain technical points to the accounts team
- Must have a good amount of Limited company accounts experience
- Ideally a proficient user of CCH Accounts Production, Sage and Xero
