Description:

The Role: We’re looking for a technically capable and relationship-focused Technical Presales Specialist to join the team. In this role, you’ll manage a portfolio of partner accounts and support them with technical advice across Dell infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking and data protection. You’ll spend a lot of time on the phone building strong relationships, helping partners with solution design, configurations and quoting, and acting as their go-to for technical support. It suits someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys working closely with partners to help grow their business while continuing to build their own technical skills.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to account growth across your named partner accounts by delivering high-quality technical pre-sales support.
  • Build strong phone-based relationships, becoming a trusted technical advisor to partners.
  • Provide 1:1 technical enablement, including product guidance, solution positioning and roadmap updates.
  • Design solutions and develop bill-of-materials, delivering accurate and timely configurations and quotes using Dell tools.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical enquiries, responding via phone, email and Teams in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Dell on opportunities, including bid and special pricing requests.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, CRM and quoting tool records, including forecasting, win probability and close timelines.
  • Contribute to weekly cadence calls, submit territory forecasts and support overall sales planning.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and internal sales teams on technical enquiries, forecasting and stock planning.
  • Proactively share product updates, promotions and market insights to drive partner engagement and growth.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Dell infrastructure adoption within existing partner accounts.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge across the Dell portfolio, staying current on new releases, lifecycle updates and competitive positioning.
  • Participate in training, self-development and occasional partner or vendor events (including outside standard hours where required).
  • Ensure customer financial arrangements align with business needs where applicable.
  • Maintain regular partner touchpoints in line with team cadence expectations.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence on the phone and the ability to build and maintain relationships remotely with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Technical knowledge or aptitude across enterprise infrastructure (servers, storage, networking and/or data protection); Dell experience is a plus.
  • Experience in pre-sales, technical sales or the distribution channel is desirable, though early-career candidates with a strong technical foundation are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to design bill-of-materials solutions and an understanding of quoting and configuration workflows within a reseller or distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Microsoft Hyper‑V is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet customer and business expectations.
  • Proactive mindset with initiative, curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including numeracy skills, negotiation capability, and the ability to identify growth opportunities within accounts.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills and exposure to ERP systems.
  • Understanding of the IT channel/distribution model and interest in the enterprise infrastructure market.
  • Ability to contribute to accurate forecasting on a monthly and quarterly basis, with strong attention to detail.
  • Professional, helpful and efficient approach in all interactions.

Our Benefits:

  • A highly competitive salary package depending upon experience.
  • Hybrid and sustainable working environment.
  • Staff only on-site gym & weekly corporate fitness classes.
  • A selection of freshly prepared lunch options provided daily.
  • Free on-site parking and electric parking stations.
  • A relaxed, modern office setting with smart casual dress.
  • Access to discounted banking, superannuation, and health and wellbeing offers via our corporate partners.

Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
