Description
What you will do in the role:
- Legal Advisory & Contracting
Provide practical and commercially focused legal support to the business across a broad range of matters. Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including vendor, customer and partner agreements, reseller and distribution agreements, service agreements, NDAs and other commercial contracts. Take carriage of contracts and matters with appropriate guidance from the General Counsel where required. Identify key legal risks and work with stakeholders to develop practical solutions. Support contract renewals, amendments and variations in collaboration with relevant business units. - Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with internal stakeholders across the business, including senior management, to understand commercial objectives and provide clear, practical legal input. Build trusted working relationships across the business. Engage directly with external lawyers, consultants and counterparties as required. - Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with other members of the Legal team, including Paralegals, to manage workflow and deliver outcomes. Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team. - Compliance & Risk
Assist with legal compliance matters as required, including supporting internal policies, procedures and governance frameworks. Support the identification, assessment and management of legal and contractual risk across the business. - General & Ad Hoc
Manage and respond to assigned legal matters and ad hoc requests from time to time. Assist with the management of legal inboxes or workflows, as required. Perform other duties reasonably required to meet the needs of the business.
Skills And Experiences
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- Essential
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) with current practising certificate. Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts (either in private practice or in-house). Ability to communicate legal concepts clearly and practically to non-legal stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and sound judgement. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced commercial environment. A proactive and solutions-focused approach. - Desirable
Exposure to in-house legal work or secondments. Experience in a technology, distribution or commercial B2B environment. Interest in developing negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
