Description
About You
- A successful Business Development Manager will bring a combination of sales, relationship management and business development experience, along with a passion for driving vendor growth.
- Previous experience in a Business Development Manager, Account Management, Vendor Management or similar business development role.
- Strong strategic, relationship-building and operational skills, with an understanding of consultative and challenger sales methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation and training skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated and results-driven, with a high level of discipline, initiative and enthusiasm.
- Able to build positive relationships with vendors, resellers and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
What you will do in the role
- Drive vendor growth by developing and implementing business development strategies that increase revenue, gross margin and rebate achievement.
- Build, manage and grow a strong sales pipeline, providing accurate forecasting throughout the month and quarter.
- Manage and develop a reseller territory, identifying growth opportunities and implementing targeted business plans.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with reseller partners, understanding their business needs and helping them achieve success.
- Work closely with Account Managers, Product Managers, Territory Managers and Sales Teams to identify and maximise sales opportunities.
- Support Dicker Data resellers with sales enquiries, quotes, customer service and vendor-related requests.
- Manage vendor special pricing processes and ensure claims are submitted accurately and on time.
- Meet or exceed vendor and Dicker Data sales targets, KPIs and reporting requirements.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of assigned vendors, products and solutions.
- Create and maintain territory plans and provide regular activity and performance reporting.
- Attend vendor, reseller, training and networking events to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities.
- Represent Dicker Data and vendor partners professionally at all times.
- Collaborate with BDMs across different regions to support aligned reseller accounts and drive national growth initiatives
Skills And Experiences
- What you will need to succeed in the role
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience managing sales pipelines and forecasting.
- Experience developing reseller, partner or customer relationships.
- Ability to analyse business opportunities and develop growth strategies.
- Relevant vendor sales certifications, or the ability to obtain and maintain them.
- Willingness to travel locally, interstate and internationally when required.
