Job Description

About Us

Dickens Eye Clinic is a destination for individuals who view eyewear as more than a necessity — it’s part of their identity. From our beautifully curated practice in Dickens Heath, we offer our clients exclusive access to some of the most sought-after eyewear brands in the world, including Jacques Marie Mage, Cartier, Dita, and Chrome Hearts.

Our approach is highly personalised and design-led, and our clients travel from across the UK — and the world — for what we offer. We combine world-class products with a sharp eye for style and a commitment to exceptional service. Now, we’re looking for someone to help bring that experience to life online.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Social Media & Practice Assistant to join us in-store and help grow our online presence in a way that reflects the refined, fashion-forward and human feel of our brand. This is a junior-level role, suited to someone early in their creative career — maybe a recent graduate — with a real passion for social media, a great eye, and a strong sense of how luxury brands speak and behave online.

While content creation and digital storytelling will be your main priority, you’ll also support the day-to-day running of the practice. Whether that’s greeting clients, packaging orders, or helping us keep track of new stock, you’ll be an essential part of a small, collaborative team.

This role requires working during all of our fixed practice opening hours.

Digital & Content Responsibilities

  • Create visually engaging content for Instagram and TikTok (Reels, Stories, short-form video, photography)
  • Film and photograph people, products, and in-store activity — confidently directing when needed
  • Assist the business owner with video content — offering scripting support and creative direction
  • Write captions, product features, and post copy in a tone that reflects our luxury but human brand voice
  • Manage social media enquiries — responding professionally and helpfully in line with our client experience
  • Stay ahead of trends, algorithm changes, and platform updates
  • Plan and schedule content around launches, seasonal moments and key client interests
  • Monitor performance and share insights to shape ongoing content strategy
  • Help track and manage stock — so you can respond to enquiries accurately and create relevant content

Client-Facing & Practice Support

  • Assist front-of-house by greeting and supporting clients during appointments
  • Help package and dispatch online orders with care and precision
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records of our stock — knowing exactly what’s available in-store, what services we offer, and what we can source for clients
  • Work closely with the Practice Manager (business owner) who will support your learning — we don’t expect you to know everything from day one, but a genuine interest and attention to detail here is essential
  • Support the team to ensure all colleagues are fully informed about stock levels and availability, so we can deliver the highest level of service both in person and online
  • Support the business owner and team with general daily tasks
  • Learn our product offering so you can speak knowledgeably with both in-store and online clients
  • Be a present, proactive and positive part of a small, specialist team

About You

  • You might be a recent graduate or at the start of your career, looking to get hands-on experience in social media and luxury retail
  • You’re passionate about fashion, design, or high-end brands — and want to be part of something beautifully curated
  • You know your way around Instagram and TikTok, and understand what drives engagement
  • You’re comfortable creating content and happy filming, photographing, and directing visuals
  • You’re a clear, confident communicator — both in writing and in person
  • You’re organised, dependable, and enjoy taking ownership
  • You’re happy to support across different areas of the business and be flexible day-to-day
  • You’re curious, eager to learn, and excited to grow alongside a fast-moving brand

Bonus Points (but not essential)

  • Experience running or contributing to a social account (even your own)
  • Familiarity with CapCut, Canva, Adobe, or other creative tools
  • Customer-facing or boutique retail experience
  • Understanding of analytics and reporting

What We Offer

  • A varied, creative role with genuine visibility and responsibility
  • Close mentorship and the chance to shape a brand’s voice online
  • The opportunity to work with some of the most exclusive eyewear brands in the world
  • A supportive, design-led working environment
  • Staff discount on luxury eyewear
  • If a post goes viral, we’ll make sure you’re rewarded — your success will be recognised
  • What you put in, you’ll get out — creativity and performance will open doors to further growth and bonuses

How to Apply

Please email your CV and a few examples of your creative work — this could be your own Instagram, Reels, TikToks, or a small portfolio. A short intro video is welcome but optional.

We’re looking for someone who’s ready to contribute, grow, and bring fresh energy to a brand that values style, substance, and genuine connection.
