Job title: Bespoke Teacher Location: Dibden Park School, Southampton SO45 5TD Salary: Up to Β£45,000 per annum, depending on experience (not pro rata) Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only Start: October 2026 UK applicants only; no sponsorship available About the Role As a Bespoke Teacher, you'll provide highly personalised, trauma-informed teaching for pupils who may find traditional classroom settings challenging. You'll create individualised learning programmes that build engagement, confidence and emotional regulation, while supporting pupils to make meaningful academic and personal progress. Working creatively and flexibly, you'll build strong, trusting relationships and adapt your approach to each pupil's needs. Where appropriate, you'll also support pupils to successfully reintegrate into wider school life, helping them experience success, belonging and progress at every stage. This role will be based at the school but will primarily involve teaching off site, supporting children and young people who are currently unable to access the classroom environment. You'll provide personalised, engaging learning in settings where pupils feel safe and supported, helping them re-engage with education and, where appropriate, work towards a successful return to school.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke education plans that reflect learners' needs, strengths and aspirations.
- Plan and teach engaging lessons across appropriate curriculum areas, adapting confidently where needs change.
- Support inclusion and wellbeing-helping learners build confidence, routines and a sense of belonging.
- Monitor progress and update learning targets, ensuring each learner moves forward with clarity and consistency.
- Work closely with colleagues to integrate education with day-to-day care and support.
- Use positive behaviour approaches to promote calm, safe learning environments.
- Contribute to reviews and documentation, working thoughtfully with families and professionals where appropriate.
- Maintain high expectations while being flexible and responsive to learners' individual circumstances.
