Our client, based in the Telecoms sector, is seeking a strong PMO Lead to support with different change projects. You will provide support and co-ordination of business activities and processes to support the Head of Business Change and Release Management and Head of Process and Service Design.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a PMO, project-based environment and ideally within Change.

Rate: £400-450 per day (inside IR35)

Pay Framework: Umbrella Company

Duration: initially 6 months with scope to extend

Location: Hybrid – 1 day a week in the office – need to be able to commute to Milton Keynes and London office.

Role:

  • Provide a tool and process for capturing all new change demand.
  • Create a reporting view of progress against the delivery portfolio and supplier activity.
  • Provide executive summary views of the overall delivery plans, risks and interdependencies from across all delivery projects and programmes.
  • Recommend and implement best practice portfolio management that allows the Operational Change and all partners to understand performance against key deliverables.
  • Control and coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects where required.
  • Champion good governance and control to ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure change is driven from a Business Case led view.
  • Assist head of departments with resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress of PMO activity.
  • Collaborate with Lead program managers to manage changes to project scope, schedule and costs using appropriate programme control techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed, ensuring strong visibility of risks and issues.
  • Perform risk management to minimise project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, utilising PPM or MS Project software.
  • Track project performance to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Champion benefit realisation, using objectives and adjusting project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with stakeholders and other staff members.
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs and plans.
  • Create a library of useful tools for program managers to use.

Requirements:

  • Previous PMO experience
  • Experience working within a project environment and ideally within Change
  • Knowledge of BPO outsourcers/tech suppliers working models & practice
