Our client, based within the telecoms sector, is looking for a temporary Employee Relations (ER) Officer to join their HR team. This temporary role is to provide cover during a period of sickness absence. Contracts are reviewed weekly, with extensions agreed while cover remains necessary.
You will provide full ER support service within the HR team and to internal and external customers. You will act as a first point of contact for ER and HR enquiries and contribute to and support on strategic HR projects.

Location: hybrid – 3 days a week in either Irlam or Telford office
Rate: £27 per hour
Pay framework: inside IR35 – Umbrella Company
Responsibilities:
- Respond to all employee and manager queries relating to policies and procedures and provide comprehensive advice
- Prepare ER, and where needed HR related reports
- Draft outcome letters and HR policies
- Manage a portfolio of ER cases, at various levels. This includes performance improvement processes and absence management cases.
- Give advice and support to department managers on various ER and HR policies and processes
- Track and respond to queries and cases.
- Assess workplace situations and evaluate information to draw accurate observations in relation to a case or situation. Complete risk identification and assessment against each case and ensure that this is managed accordingly
- Contribute to HR data governance
- Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement within the team
- Provide support to the wider HR team as and when required and respond to HR Operations queries
Requirements:
- Qualified or working towards a CIPD Level 5 or have equivalent experience
- Experience of HR and employee relations case management
- Experience of working within a fast-paced environment with different departments
