Overview of the Graduate Electrical Design Engineer role with a growing engineering and manufacturing business supplying technically complex and performance-critical electrical systems into regulated production environments. This role will support the design, development, and release of electrical harnesses and electrical systems from concept through prototype and into serial production, working closely with manufacturing, quality, and project teams. The business is seeking a Graduate Electrical Design Engineer who is looking to build strong foundations in electrical design, CAD systems, and engineering change control within a structured and supportive technical environment.
Responsibilities
- Support electrical harness and system design from concept through prototype to production.
- Produce 2D/3D drawings, and technical documentation for manufacturing and release.
- Assist with harness routing, packaging, and system layout for build and service efficiency.
- Create and maintain BOMs, engineering changes, and controlled design records.
- Provide technical support to production and quality during build, test, and fault resolution.
Desirable Skills And Experience
- Degree, HND, or HNC in Electrical, Electronic, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (or similar).
- Understanding of schematics, wiring systems, and electromechanical design principles.
- Exposure to CAD/design tools such as SolidWorks, Zuken E3, AutoCAD, or similar.
- High attention to detail and interest in formal documentation and change control.
- Confident communicator across engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.
