A well-established manufacturing business is seeking a Compliance Manager to take ownership of site-wide compliance, auditing, and governance within a fast-paced, operational environment. This is a hands-on, visible role suited to someone who enjoys being on the shopfloor, engaging with teams, and ensuring issues are properly closed out rather than simply recorded.
With a strong order book and a stable long-term outlook, the business offers an environment where compliance is taken seriously, audits are frequent, and continuous improvement is actively encouraged.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will be responsible for supervising and guiding compliance activity across the site, leading higher-level system audits, and ensuring non-conformances and audit findings are effectively managed through to closure. The role is audit-heavy and people-facing, requiring strong engagement with operators, team leaders, and senior management.
Responsibilities:- Closing out compliance issues and ensuring corrective actions are completed effectively.
- Supervising and guiding staff on compliance, procedures, and best practice.
- Reviewing, improving, and maintaining work instructions and SOPs.
- Leading internal audits and coordinating a high volume of external audits.
- Managing non-conformance logs and ensuring 8D submissions are completed on time.
- Monitoring and tracking 8D activity, supporting production teams rather than owning problem-solving.
- Conducting deep, system-level audits through discussion and observation, not tick-box exercises.
- Engaging with senior management on audit outcomes, risks, and improvement actions.
- Experience in a Compliance or Quality focused role.
- Trained across ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / AS9100 and/or UK CAA Part 21J, 21G & Part 145 / EASA Part 145.
- Strong background in auditing within a manufacturing or operational environment.
- Comfortable overseeing NCRs and 8D activity without owning root cause analysis.
- Confident engaging with shopfloor teams, team leaders, and senior management.
- Able to work with data, trends, and basic systems (Excel etc).
