Base pay range
Contract: 3 years (fixed term) located in Sussex (with travel across the region). Salary: FTE Β£40,540 (30 hours per week, pro-rata rate of Β£32,423). Flexible Working: Full driving licence and own transport required.

Role Overview
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the management and delivery of the Heritage Skills Taster Day initiative, funded by the National Lottery as a three-year programme. This programme aims to provide young people (aged 16-24) with hands-on experience and career opportunities in traditional building conservation skills, generating interest in sustainable careers and green pathways. The role will involve project management, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
Project Management
- Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of the Charities Skills Taster Day programme over a three-year period.
- Create a programme of follow-on training courses for participants of the Taster Days
- Help to connect 16β25-year-olds from the Taster Days with commercial partners to generate career opportunities
- Ensure project milestones, deliverables, and outcomes are met within budget and timeline constraints.
- Develop a long-term strategy to expand the programme across multiple training providers in Sussex.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage the project budget, ensuring funds are allocated effectively and responsibly.
- Track expenditure, report on financial performance, and support fundraising efforts where necessary.
- Prepare reports for funders, trustees, and partners to demonstrate project impact and success.
- Reports to the CEO
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in project coordination, event management, or programme delivery.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills.
- Experience working with young people, particularly in an educational or outreach capacity.
- Knowledge of or interest in heritage skills, building conservation, or sustainable careers.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Financial acumen, with experience in budget management and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Understanding of health and safety, safeguarding, and inclusivity best practices.
