Diamond Search Recruitment are delighted to be supporting our client in recruiting for an experienced Senior Electronics/Firmware Engineer. Working within the Research & Development division, this is a key role within the business and represents a great opportunity to join an exciting, innovative and growing organisation!
Our client offers attractive remuneration of £50-55K plus benefits, including 8% pension, life insurance and simply health medical plan. Working hours are 35 hours a week 8.30 – 5 and 8.30 – 1.30 on a Friday. Work from home opportunity 2 days per week once established!
The Role:
- Supporting R&D project work.
- This role reports into more senior engineers, project managers and the R&D Manager.
- To take responsibility for the electronics and firmware design of products from concept through to production taking account of requirements, timescales, cost and regulatory constraints.
The ideal candidate:
- Degree (2:1) or higher (or equivalent).
- Embedded Programming Experience in ‘C’, VHDL, C++, .net, C#, java, Python, or algorithm development an advantage.
- Ideally existing work placement experience within a Design House or R&D department.
- Familiarity with CAD for schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Can do attitude, inquisitive, willing to take on tasks as deemed necessary for the project.
- Ability to client face, good presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to take on other systems elements within a project such as thermals, optics etc an advantage.
- Strong, proven track record of design experience ideally 5 years; candidates with less experience will be considered if evidence of outstanding ability can be demonstrated.
- Hands on, self-motivated, willing to learn and help evolve the R&D department.
