JOB OVERVIEW
The PSL Coordinator primarily provides support to the Professional Support Lawyers (PSLs) and is responsible for creating and updating the firms precedent documents, at the direction of the PSLs and others within the firm. The role includes posting know-how items to the grey matter home pages on the Hive, and maintaining other know-how databases such as team specific knowledge walls. The role also includes arranging know-how induction for fee-earners joining the firm or a new practice area. The post holder will be an experienced secretary, legal assistant, career paralegal and/or someone with excellent IT skills and experience of working with legal technology who is organised and can show a high level of attention to detail. The role sits within the Commercial Dispute Resolution Team in the Corporate division however the work will be across all practice areas of the firm.
MAIN DUTIES
- Updating and maintaining precedent indexes for all PSLs, and liaising with ICT when required
- Utilising the best method and technology for the firms precedent library
- Creating and updating precedents at the request of the PSLs and others in the firm, for all legal divisions, the Finance team, and Risk and Compliance team
- Maintaining a record of the evolution of each precedent (revision sheets)
- Creating specialist precedents e.g. court documents which partly conform to house style but must also satisfy court requirements
- Drafting practice notes on technical issues relating to precedents
EXPERIENCE
- Experience of working within a legal environment
- Accustomed to and confident working on Word documents at an advanced level including creating, amending and formatting of documents
- Experience of using other Microsoft Office applications, in particular Outlook and Excel at a good level
- Experience of using Teams, iManage, BigHand and Peppermint also an advantage
- Accustomed to liaising with colleagues at all levels - in person, on the telephone, on Teams and by emails
