Diamond Search Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting experienced Residential Care Workers on behalf of an established and growing children's residential care provider in Littleover, Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for a Residential Care Worker (RCW) who is passionate about supporting children and young people and wants to develop a long-term career within residential childcare. The organisation operates two established children's residential homes in Littleover, both currently rated Good by Ofsted, and is continuing to grow its team.
About the Role
As a Residential Care Worker, you will work as part of a small, dedicated team providing high-quality, trauma-informed care to children and young people. You will play an important role in supporting their emotional, physical, educational and independent development, while helping to create a safe, nurturing and positive home environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the physical and emotional wellbeing, safeguarding and protection of children and young people.
- Working in line with individual care, education and risk management plans.
- Supporting children and young people with their day-to-day living, education and personal development.
- Building positive, trusting relationships and acting as a consistent and positive role model.
- Supporting the Registered Manager in maintaining the home's Good Ofsted rating and working towards Outstanding.
- Helping to ensure the home remains clean, safe, welcoming and well maintained.
- Managing challenging behaviour and sensitive situations calmly and appropriately.
- Working effectively with colleagues, families, professionals and external stakeholders.
- Developing knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures and children's residential care standards.
- Demonstrating integrity, optimism, resilience, determination and compassion in your work.
About You
You will ideally have previous experience working with children and young people in residential care, social care, education or activity-based settings, particularly where challenging behaviour may be present. We are looking for people who have:

- The ability to remain calm and resilient when managing challenging or sensitive situations.
- A positive, professional and compassionate approach.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

- A willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
- A Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
Salary & Benefits
- £30,620 basic salary per annum
- Additional payment for sleep-in shifts
- Performance-related pay

- Maximum salary potential of £31,120, plus sleep-ins
- Average sleep-in earnings of approximately £4,200 per annum, based on around 5 sleep-ins per calendar month
