Diamond Search Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a respected specialist care provider, for an experienced Turnaround Manager to lead the improvement and stabilisation of an adults' residential home in Lancaster. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced care leader with a proven track record of driving service improvement within CQC-regulated environments. The successful candidate will be expected to take on CQC registration and be available for an immediate start (subject to pre-employment checks).

The Role

As Turnaround Manager, you will take full operational responsibility for the service, providing strong leadership to stabilise operations, improve regulatory compliance, and embed a culture of high-quality, person-centred care. Working closely with senior leadership, you will develop and deliver improvement plans while ensuring the safety, wellbeing and best outcomes for the people supported.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall operational leadership of the residential service.
  • Act as the senior safeguarding lead, ensuring safe and effective care at all times.
  • Lead the service through a structured improvement programme, addressing regulatory requirements and inspection actions.
  • Assume CQC Registered Manager responsibilities and maintain full regulatory compliance.
  • Stabilise staffing, rotas, supervision and operational performance.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the staff team through periods of change.
  • Implement robust governance, auditing and quality assurance processes.
  • Build positive relationships with CQC, commissioners, local authorities and other external stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality reports, action plans and performance updates.
  • Ensure improvements are embedded and sustainable, supporting a smooth transition at the end of the contract.

About You

We're looking for an experienced and resilient care professional who can confidently lead services through change.

Essential Requirements

  • Significant experience managing adults' residential care services.
  • Proven success delivering turnaround, transformation or post-inspection improvement within regulated care settings.
  • Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding legislation and quality standards.
  • Experience leading teams through change and driving accountability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in fast-paced environments.
  • Confidence making complex operational decisions under pressure.

Desirable

  • Current or previous CQC Registered Manager status, or eligibility to register.
  • Experience improving services rated 'Requires Improvement' or equivalent.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting adults with complex needs or behaviours that challenge.
