Diamond Search Recruitment is working exclusively with a highly established and successful client who is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator with a strong industrial background. If you’re confident pricing projects, managing tenders and getting into the detail of drawings, take-offs and subcontractor quotations, this could be an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career.
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 depending on experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing tenders, budgets and cost estimates for new projects.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents.
- Completing detailed manual and digital take-offs.
- Producing Bills of Quantities.
- Preparing and issuing subcontractor enquiries.
- Obtaining, analysing and comparing subcontractor quotations.
- Building accurate project costs and tender submissions.
- Managing post-tender queries and negotiations through to contract signature.
- Maintaining tender deadlines and ensuring submissions are delivered on time.
- Attending site visits as required.
- Supporting the Pre-Construction Director.
- Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensuring a smooth handover of successful tenders to the construction team.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the industrial/construction sector.
- Strong tendering and estimating experience.
- Excellent understanding of drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Experience with detailed take-offs and Bills of Quantities.
- Experience obtaining and evaluating subcontractor quotations.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tenders.
- A proactive, reliable and self-motivated approach.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- A full driving licence.
