Diamond Search Recruitment are delighted to be representing our client, a fast-growing UK distributor, in the recruitment of an experienced Supply Chain Manager. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for owning end-to-end supply chain planning, international sourcing and inventory optimisation within a dynamic and expanding business environment. You will lead planning strategy, manage global supplier relationships and drive operational excellence to ensure product availability while optimising stock, cost and service performance.

The Role

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will take ownership of the full supply chain lifecycle — from demand forecasting through to imports, purchasing and inventory management across UK locations. You will also lead a small team and play a key role in shaping scalable S&OP processes to support continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • S&OP & Planning Leadership
    • Own and develop the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process
    • Build consensus demand plans across Sales, Finance and Operations
    • Present supply/demand outlook and risks to senior leadership
    • Drive forecast alignment across the business
  • Demand & Supply Planning
    • Create short, medium and long-term forecasts at SKU level
    • Monitor forecast accuracy and implement improvements
    • Translate forecasts into effective purchasing and supply plans
  • Inventory & Stock Management
    • Optimise stock levels, safety stock and reorder parameters
    • Manage inventory across multiple UK locations and 3PL partners
    • Reduce excess, slow-moving and obsolete stock
  • Global Sourcing & Supplier Management
    • Manage international suppliers and purchasing activity
    • Negotiate lead times, MOQs and supply flexibility
    • Track supplier performance (OTIF, quality, responsiveness)
  • Imports & Logistics
    • Oversee inbound international logistics
    • Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs partners
    • Manage Incoterms, documentation and shipment performance
  • Leadership
    • Manage and develop a team of three supply chain professionals
    • Set priorities, coach team members and drive performance
    • Foster continuous improvement culture

About You

Commercially aware Supply Chain professional with strong planning expertise gained within a distribution or industrial environment. Experience within Construction supply, building materials, M&E, industrial distribution or similar sectors. Demand planning and supply planning leadership. Importing and global supplier management. ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel analysis. Cross‑functional stakeholder collaboration.

Desirable

  • CIPS, APICS or equivalent supply chain qualification.
  • Experience implementing or improving S&OP processes.
  • Fast‑growth or scaling business experience.
