Diamond Search Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading national provider of specialist education and support services in the appointment of an experienced Divisional Business Manager – Education. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and highly organised professional to join a successful education division, providing strategic, operational, and financial support to senior leadership teams while helping drive performance across a multi-site network.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business growth, improving operational effectiveness, analysing performance data, and ensuring strong financial oversight across a portfolio of specialist education services. This role is primarily remote but will require regular travel to education services across the UK.

The Role

Reporting to the Divisional Director, the Divisional Business Manager will work closely with senior operational leaders, school and service managers, and central support functions to support the delivery of strategic objectives. You will provide high-quality financial and operational analysis, lead performance monitoring activities, support business reviews, and contribute to projects that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and outcomes. This role also includes direct line management responsibility and the opportunity to influence decision-making at a senior level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Operational Support
    • Partner with senior leadership to support strategic planning, business reviews, and operational performance.
    • Monitor key performance areas including occupancy, admissions, and income against targets.
    • Provide insight and analysis to support effective decision-making.
    • Identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Financial & Performance Analysis
    • Analyse budgets, financial performance, and key business indicators.
    • Support operational leaders through regular financial and performance reviews.
    • Produce accurate management information and reports for senior stakeholders.
    • Work collaboratively with Finance, Business Development, and operational teams.
    • Drive continuous improvement through effective data analysis.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Build strong relationships with education leaders, regional teams, and corporate functions.
    • Support effective communication across a geographically dispersed division.
    • Encourage collaboration and sharing of best practice.
  • Project & Change Management
    • Support the delivery of strategic projects and divisional initiatives.
    • Track milestones, outcomes, and progress against objectives.
    • Contribute to improvements in systems, processes, and ways of working.
  • Leadership Responsibilities
    • Lead and develop a team of Business Managers.
    • Provide coaching, support, and clear direction.
    • Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Take operational responsibility for an online education provision.

About You

We are seeking a confident, analytical, and commercially aware professional with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and deliver meaningful business insight. You will have:

  • Experience in a business management, operational, finance, or performance-focused role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Experience reviewing budgets, financial reports, and profit and loss information.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while building effective relationships across multiple teams.
  • A high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience within education, care, healthcare, or a multi-site operational environment.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership teams.
  • Previous people management or leadership experience.
