Maintenance Assistant is a full‑time position at Diamond Grove Center, a 61‑bed behavioral psychiatric hospital located in Louisville, Miss. The role runs Monday through Friday, 6:00 am–3:30 pm, with occasional on‑call duties. Diamond Grove Center serves children, adolescents, and adults, providing inpatient acute care and residential treatment for approximately 1,000 patients each year.
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will perform general maintenance work, including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, mechanical, housekeeping, fire safety, internal and external disaster response, and facility security. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a safe workplace
- Completing daily facility rounds
- Delivering supplies
- Performing routine maintenance per the Director of Facility Operations’ schedule
- HVAC filter changes monthly
- Vent vacuuming
- Pressure washing interior and exterior mats
- Landscaping (blowing parking lot, trimming hedges, cutting grass)
- Maintaining facility vehicles
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Minimum of five years maintenance experience
- Ability to read, write, follow written and oral instructions
- Must have the physical capacity and mobility to do heavy work—pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, or over 50 pounds with assistance
