About You
- We are looking for a confident, resilient and solutions-focused housing professional who can manage complex casework, communicate clearly and deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Detailed knowledge of local authority duties under the Housing Act 1996 Part VII, Homelessness Act 2002, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and the Homelessness Code of Guidance for Local Authorities.
- Good understanding of related legislation, including child protection, security of tenure and wider statutory responsibilities relevant to homelessness casework.
- Sound knowledge of services, benefits and support options available to applicants experiencing housing difficulties.
Skills and Experience
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen, negotiate, build trust and manage sensitive conversations professionally.
- A creative and practical approach to problem solving, with the confidence to interpret complex legislation and case law.
