Key responsibilities:
- To deliver the work programmes specifically in relation to the requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act and other statutory regulations.
- To be responsible for leading specialist work streams. Rotation of work streams will be at the discretion of the Principal Emergency Management Officer.
- To prepare plans and procedures to help facilitate an integrated internal and external response to incidents.
- To assist in the preparation and delivery of training programmes and exercises to help improve the council's emergency preparedness.
Qualification – Essential:
- GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
- Educated to degree level standard or equivalent work-related attainment experience.
- Diploma (or equivalent) in Emergency Planning, Business Continuity, or related field, government systems.
- Advanced – Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, social media, and CRM.

- Experience in project development in fields with transferable skills.
- A good understanding of local and regional.
- An understanding of the Civil Contingencies Act and other relevant statutory legislation.
- Experience of multi-agency working.
- Experience in developing plans/procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and methodical under pressure.
- Ability to provide guidance and instruction to stakeholders and colleagues.
- Basic – IT skills, including the ability to read maps and handheld tablets.
- Strong personal commitment to the provision and development of public services.
