About the Tech Team

Technology powers everything we do at Dialectica – from communicating with clients and finding the most relevant expert profiles in just a few minutes to indexing and categorizing thousands of pieces of information every day. To do so, we have built our own proprietary web application that automates and optimizes the delivery of our market leading services.

To date, the team consists of 80+ people across Software Engineering, Product & Design, TechOps, and is expected to grow further in 2025. Being part of Dialectica’s Technology Team you will have the opportunity to help build tech products according to the requirements of our internal and external clients and share the company’s vision to roll out more information services software products in the future.

As a Senior Back End Software Engineer in Dialectica you will:

  • Write well-structured, testable, performant, secure code
  • Review code and have your own code reviewed by fellow engineers
  • Design new systems and improve existing ones following best practices and architectural patterns
  • Be involved in the overall application lifecycle
  • Be part of one of our cross-functional teams, with ownership over a specific Product area
  • Be actively involved in all team ceremonies (daily stand-up, grooming, retrospectives), whiteboard sessions and bonding events.
  • Be responsible for the good operation and monitoring of the back end systems the team owns
  • Work closely with all team members (Product Manager, Front end Engineers, Software Engineers in Test) and build a relationship of trust and teamwork
  • Get engaged with the product and aim to deliver great business value

For a good fit in this role we expect candidates with:

  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of proven experience in building Web Applications that are robust, maintainable and scalable
  • Extensive experience with back end technologies and frameworks (e.g Ruby/Ruby on Rails, Go, Java, PHP, Python, NodeJS/Express)
  • Experience with microservices architectures and distributed systems
  • Experience with SQL and No-SQL Databases (preferably PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Redis)
  • Familiarity with message brokers (e.g. RabbitMQ, Kafka, SNS/SQS)
  • Deep understanding of software architecture and the software development life cycle
  • Solid foundation and understanding of the Object-Oriented programming patterns and best practices (Design Patterns and SOLID design principles )
  • A broad knowledge of the web platform as a whole (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, HTTP/S, REST, web performance, web security)
  • Proficiency in Git
  • Good understanding of DevOps practices
  • Agile development experience (SCRUM)

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design
