What You\’ll help us achieve;
As our Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Dissection) at
Diagnexia, you will play a pivotal role in spearheading our fully digitised pathology laboratory, establishing yourself as a dissection role model amongst the scientific team.
- Use your histology expertise across our fully digital laboratory – from specimen reception through to final diagnosis. You\’ll apply your specialist dissection skills in advanced techniques and methodologies whilst mentoring the next generation of biomedical scientists.
- Key areas where you\’ll make an impact:
- Specimen dissection and workflows – You\’ll apply your dissection expertise alongside handling the complete specimen journey including accessioning, surgical sample preparations, cut up, processing, embedding, microtomy, staining and digitisation
- Quality leadership – You\’ll implement QC measures, troubleshoot technical challenges and maintain UKAS standards
- Method innovation – You\’ll develop and validate new procedures following UKAS 15189:2022 standards
- Research collaboration – You\’ll contribute to diagnostic improvements and AI project sample preparation
- Team development – You\’ll supervise and train support staff and junior scientists across multiple laboratory sections
- Digital pathology – You\’ll work with cutting-edge equipment and digital systems to deliver accurate diagnoses
What You\’ll Need
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
- 2+ years post-registration experience in UKAS accredited histology labs
- Proven specimen dissection experience with documented competency and CPD compliance
- Strong knowledge of histology equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Experience developing and validating laboratory procedures
Technical skills you\’ll use:
- Quality control implementation and maintenance
- Laboratory information management systems
- Data analysis and documentation software
- Equipment calibration and maintenance
